"We know what lies behind us. Let us bring with us whatever made us wise in the past, enough to carry us to the end of this journey." -MCRey
September 2025, Crisp, chilly wind of Bergen autumn is settling in.. I love the atmosphere of autumn! I'm now one-fourth of the way through the fifth edit of my second book project, Summit š, and despite the hectic schedule at work, I’m deeply grateful for the 2–3 hours I manage to carve out in the early mornings before the 9-5 begins.
So, how has my editing evolved since the first book? First and foremost, I would like to thank my amazing editor. She has been an incredible blessing for someone like me, who is still new to this profession. One of the most impactful lessons she’s taught me is to tighten every stanza, every line. Eliminate any word that doesn’t contribute to the poem as a whole. Be crystal clear about the message. Her suggestions have been so valuable, and I truly can’t emphasize that enough.
Now, I’m diving into the second chapter of the manuscript and aiming to complete the full edit by mid-October, before sending it off to her. Excitement is building!!
